PlayStation VR owners have four new titles to choose from this week, Run Dorothy Run, Restless Spirit, Konrad the Kitten and Apex Construct. While each one serves its own particular genre it’ll be Fast Travel Games’ Apex Construct that’ll have most players interest. Launched today, the sci-fi virtual reality (VR) experience has a new trailer and some screenshots to tempt you into purchasing.
Apex Construct is Fast Travel Games’ first VR title, putting players in a surreal vision of the future where mankind is no more and the world is run by robots and AI. To survive, the studio has equipped players with a very much old school type of weapon, a bow and arrow. With a trusty aim and quick reflexes you need to uncover what has gone on and how to stop it at all costs.
“Today is a monumental day for us at Fast Travel Games, as the game we have been working on since 2016 is finally released”, CEO Oskar Burman states. “We believe we have just delivered something that has been missing in VR: a story-driven experience, with focus on immersion and exploration in addition to a fluid bow & arrow combat. Players even utilizes an inventory to change their arrow loadout, check their mission objectives and status, and to store items which can help them find all the secrets and hidden areas. We could not be more proud to finally bring an experience like Apex Construct to PSVR players around the world.”
While PlayStation VR owners have got an early lead when it comes to playing Apex Construct, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive owners won’t miss out as the experience will be released on 20th March, 2018 for both headsets.
To find out what VRFocus though of the title, read our five-star review which said: “Despite some minor gripes, its clear that Apex Construct represents the way forward for VR videogames, an absorbing, intriguing experience that draws you in with a rich world complete with is own history and mysteries to be unravelled as well as a fluid combat system.”
