In December indie developer Bloompix Studios released a horror videogame exclusively for Samsung Gear VR, The Devil Awaits VR via the Gallery Apps section of the Oculus Store. Now the studio has announced its first update for the title, expanding and improving the experience further.
The Devil Awaits VR is a thriller in which you play as Rick H. Johanson, a thief who tries to escape from the police after committing a robbery in a bank. The main action takes place in an abandoned cabin where you soon find yourself fighting against the devil who had been capturing the souls of innocent people of the region. So you need to investigate cases, solving the puzzles to get back home.
For the update Bloompix Studio has slightly changed the controls and the performance of the game has been optimised to make it more intuitive. Visuals have been polished and extra dialogues added to make the experience more immersive and engrossing.
“Since the birth of VR, we’ve been wanting to feel real fear and despair in a virtual reality experience, and now we have made it happen,” says Sergio Gardella, CEO at Bloompix Studios in a statement. “Samsung Gear VR is the optimal home for The Devil Awaits VR, and I am certain that after playing it, a sense of disheartenment won’t vanish from your nightmares”.
Supporting both the Gear VR controller as well as the normal Touchpad, The Devil Awaits VR can be purchased for Samsung Gear VR for $4.99 USD/£3.99 GBP on the Oculus Store. For the latest Gear VR updates, keep reading VRFocus.
