Dead Hungry Bites into PlayStation VR Tomorrow

A new first-person zombie videogame is coming to PlayStation VR tomorrow, it was announced at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) Paris Games Week press conference today. Q-Games Dead Hungry is making the jump from PC to PlayStation 4 in time for Halloween.

The first title in Q-Games’ PixelJunk VR series, Dead Hungry is a tongue-in-cheek action videogame where the player is in the role of a cook in a food truck, desperately cooking up meals to satisfy the appetites of an invading zombie horde. Contrary to most zombie experiences in videogames, Dead Hungry is less about massacring the enemy and more about satisfying them, as a well-cooked meal can turn and angry zombie back into a productive member of society.

The original PixelJunk series was a mainstay of the PlayStation 3’s indie scene, and Q-Games is attempting to replicate that success in virtual reality (VR). No subsequent titles have yet been revealed, however with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift editions of Dead Hungry already available it’s likely the team will soon be moving on to a new videogame.

Dead Hungry has seen significant success on the aforementioned PC formats, priced at £14.99 GBP.

Originally announced for release on 24th October 2017, Dead Hungry was pushed back a week but will still make it in time for Halloween, launching via the PlayStation Store tomorrow.
