Indie developers Game Cooks originally launched first-person shooter (FPS) Vindicta on HTC Vive as an Early Access title. It has since received several updates, and is now ready for Oculus Rift users to try.
Vindicta puts the player in the role of Agent V, whose mission is to infiltrate the headquarters of evil mega corporation UB Industries, who are trying to build a robot army in an attempt at world domination. The player will face a wide variety of robotic foes, from hulking humanoid robots to huge mechanical spiders. Movement is handled by players swinging their arms back and forth as though they were running, a similar system to what has been used by Sprint Vector or Dash Dash Run. If that is a bit much for you, and alternative locomotion system is available with trackpad control.
Last month, Game Cooks introduced a large new update for Vindicta, which introduced an area called The Hive, which added fast-paced arena fights alongside new puzzles to be solved and new enemy types like the floating alarm detector and electrified spiders along with new weapons and various bug fixes and improvements.
The Oculus Rift version is now available through Steam with a special discounted price of $12.89 (USD) designed to entice Oculus Rift users to try out the title. The Oculus Touch controllers will be required to play.
Further information and updates can be found on the Steam store page.
