Starting out as a small virtual reality (VR) meetup in Los Angeles, California, the VRLA event has grown into a massive two-day event featuring the very latest in VR, augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) tech. The 2017 event took place in April, and now the 2018 dates have been announced, with the expo and conference taking place from 4th to 5th May.
While the dates have been revealed it’s still a little early to confirm exhibitors and speakers just yet – there’s still eight months to go. Expect VRLA 2018 to be even bigger and better than 2017, with more keynote speakers, demos, educational sessions, experimental work and presentations from VR/AR industry leaders.
2017 was the biggest to date with almost 10,000 visitors attending, demoing the latest kit and experiences from Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear, Microsoft HoloLens, Google Daydream and PlayStation VR.
Past VRLA events have featured Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, comedian Reggie Watts, Unity CEO John Riccitiello, AMD Vice President Roy Taylor and more as keynote speakers; a mixed reality Easter Egg hunt; a VR Rave presented by TheWaveVR and a Girls Make VR educational workshop.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of VRLA, reporting back with the latest announcements.
