Independent developer Hashbang Games has made its virtual reality (VR) debut with Mage Guard: The Last Grimoire, available now via Steam Early Access. Currently compatible with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, support for the OSVR Hacker Dev Kit (HDK) is also planned.
In Mage Guard: The Last Grimoire, players take on the role of a Guild Mage tasked with guarding the Guild’s most powerful relic, The Grimoire. Magic, based on symbols, is a powerful force in the world and tightly controlled, and as such all mages must join the Guild for their own safety and the safety of the populace.
However, chaos ensues when a rogue faction within the Guild breaks away and begins running rampant, capturing or burning villages, stealing knowledge and artefacts and setting themselves up as the ruling class of the land. Deep within the chambers of the Guild Archives, you stand guard over the Guild’s most powerful relic. Should it fall into the hands of the enemy, all is lost.
Mage Guard: The Last Grimoire represents a wave shooter with a difference. The title is available via Steam Early Access now, priced at £14.99 GBP. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Mage Guard: The Last Grimoire and other forthcoming titles from Hashbang Games.
