VR Idol Group Hop Step Sing! Release New Song

The concept of virtual idol singers has been a part of Japanese culture for decades, appearing in anime and manga and becoming reality with the release of vocaloids such as Hatsune Miku. With the growth of virtual reality (VR) those virtual idols can be brought to life even further, such as with virtual girl group Hop Step Sing! Who are releasing a new song on Steam.

HTC Vive users will be take a trip to the beach with the girls from Hop Step Sing! With the release of the 3rd song by the virtual idol group, Niina Nijikawa, Mikasa Minowa and Shikiri Shishiba, titled Kimamani Summer Vacation. The VR music video features the well-known Enoshima train line in Tokyo and beach views courtesy of improved visuals.

The new song release offers a slightly new interactive twist, in that the ending of the song will change depending on how the user interacts with it, since the ending will vary depending on which of the girls caught your attention the most, letting the viewer be more of part of the story.

The song was composed by Yusuke Satoh with lyrics by Aira Yuhki. The vocal talent for the three girls is provided by up and coming idol singers Maria Sashide, Mariko Toribe and Natsume Hioka.

Hop Step Sing! Kimamani Summer Vacation will be available on Steam for HTC Vive on 17th August, 2017, with a price point of $6.99 (USD). A discounted bundle of the previous songs by the group is available at $10.35, a 10% discount. Further information can be found on the Steam store page.
