If you’ve been in the market for a virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) but have been awaiting some decent deals to appear this week certainly has one or two available. Yesterday VRFocus reported on Oculus launching a very aggressive promotion for the Oculus Rift with Touch, dropping the price down to $399 USD/£399 GBP for a limited time. If you happen to be an Amazon Prime member then there are further offers to be had.
At present Amazon has two very good deals going on if you’re after a PlayStation VR or HTC Vive headset. You will need to be a Prime member to make use of these offers but you can try the service for free for a limited time.
The first is the PlayStation VR plus the PlayStation Camera for $399.99. This also includes redeemable digital codes for: Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, PSVR Mechanized Combat League, and PSVR Worlds.
The second is for HTC Vive, with customers able to pickup the headset for $699.99. This price includes Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Everest VR, and Richie’s Plank Experience.
One thing to note is that these offers are only for US-based customers, here in the UK there’s decidedly less on offer. But there are still saving to be had. The second generation of the Samsung Gear VR is currently reduced in price, available at a very reasonable £39.99. This comes with the newer USB-Type C connection plus Mini USB connector to fit Samsung models: Galaxy S8, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6, S6 Edge. This doesn’t come with the new Gear VR controller however.
Should you need an input device there’s the SteelSeries Stratus XL, on a Prime Day deal for $30.99. This featured in VRFocus‘ guide to the Best Gamepads for Gear VR when it was priced at £99.99.
If any further deals appear VRFocus will keep you up to date on the latest offers.
