DMG Entertainment Launches DMG Esports

DMG entertainment has announced that it will be creating DMG Esports in partnership with one of the biggest amateur Esports leagues, Super League Gaming to provide a platform that will allow esports fans around the world to access esports competitions, content and social functions.

The new DMG Esports platform will be integrated into DMG entertainment’s current divisions, including film videogaming, virtual reality (VR). The investment and partnership with Super League Gaming is part of a wider plan for DMG Esports worldwide.

As VR becomes a force in mainstream videogaming and Esports continues to gain international recognition, so the two will continue to become intertwined. DMG and Super League Gaming will expand to accessible Esports for amateur gamers, which includes 12 official teams within the US.

“Our inspiration for DMG Esports comes from the extraordinarily committed esports fans and community. Their stories drive our unique point-of-view on the industry allowing our strengths in entertainment and technology to deliver fresh and compelling experiences,” said Mintz. “Partnering with an industry leader like SLG, allows us to open up the world of esports to everyone, not just the pros.”

“We are thrilled to be working with a tremendous global partner like DMG as we continue to build and grow our community, particularly as esports continues to explode in popularity around the world,” said Ann Hand, CEO of Super League Gaming. “Our goal is to introduce esports to a broader fan base that, until now, was only available to a fraction of the population. With our online and live in-person events, we’re leading the way in bringing amateur gamers into esports in a safe, fun and socially rewarding way.”

VRFocus will continue to report on esports news related to VR.
