Today Bethesda has made several big announcements for virtual reality (VR) fans, with Fallout 4 VR and DOOM VFR both confirmed as 2017 titles. Not only that but the latter is now available for pre-order for PlayStation VR.
On PlayStation.Store DOOM VFR is retailing for $29.99 USD with a release date of 31st December 2017 – this is most likely a place holder date as Bethesda made no specific date announcements during the E3 2017 press conference.
On top of that DOOM VFR will also get a retail version for gamers that like a physical copy of their videogames. As yet this doesn’t have a date of arrival, or whether it’ll be the same price as the digital copy.
With VR announcements being decidedly thin so far for the E3 2017 press conferences, Bethesda’s two opening announcements have certainly turned that tide. Expectations were that Electronic Arts’ (EA) first event on Saturday, wouldn’t hold much promise but there was a small glimmer of VR by way of a new division called SEED. While today’s press event from Microsoft had the official unveiling of Xbox One X, but no mention of it’s VR support.
