Minecraft Goes Completely Cross Platform for VR, PC, Mobile and Consoles

The Microsoft pre-E3 press conference has so far showcased plenty of exclusive content for Xbox consoles as well as the official reveal of Xbox One X (previously Project Scorpio) but its been lacking any virtual reality (VR) focused news. Well a small reference has now appeared for the massively popular Minecraft, with the company uniting the videogame across PC, mobile, console and VR.

Minecraft has been available for Samsung Gear VR and Oculus Rift for sometime now (both in 2016) with cross platform support available with Windows 10 devices, with the Friendly Update. But now the title will have the widest cross-play support yet (of possibly any videogame), so that players on any of those aforementioned platforms can engage in the voxel-based world building experience.

Lydia Winters, Mojang Brand Director made the announcement, also revealing that player made skins, maps, textures, and massive community run servers would now feature. Additionally, coming this Fall 2017, a free 4K update would be released called the Super Duper Graphics Pack which is going to upgrade the visual aesthetic whilst keeping with the well loved block format style.
