Today, Ubisoft will be releasing its biggest – and most keenly awaited – experience yet for virtual reality (VR), Star Trek: Bridge Crew, for Oculus Rift with Touch and HTC Vive. While the title is likely to garner lots of players on day one, for those that have been thinking about buying a head-mounted display (HMD) HTC has an offer that could persuade some to jump on board its platform, offering the title with new purchases.
From today, if you buy the HTC Vive you’ll get a free copy of Star Trek: Bridge Crew bundled in, announced the company on Twitter. On HTC Vive’s official website it stipulates the offer is only available on units purchased and redeemed between 30th May – 30th June 2017.
Developed by Red Storm Entertainment, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, is a team focused experience with players taking on one of four roles, Captain, Engineer, Tactical Officer, or Helm Officer. Each has their own part to play in successfully completing missions. When the title was originally announced players would find themselves on board the USS Aegis. Then earlier this year the studio revealed a major addition to the videogame, the iconic original star ship, the USS Enterprise would also be available for a far more 1960’s sci-fi feel.
Last week saw Nvidia release its Game Ready Driver for Star Trek: Bridge Crew to ensure players cards are optimised. And for UK customers who might want to make use of the offer there’s always HTC Vive’s financing, so they can pick up a headset for £35 GBP a month.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew will launch later today. For the latest updates on the videogame keep reading VRFocus.
