The UEFA Champions League final is offering all sort of opportunities related to virtual reality (VR). The match will be broadcast live in both 4K on YouTube and in 360-degrees through YouTube or the BT sport app. In addition, Sony will be offering visitors to the UEFA Champions Festival in Cardiff the opportunity to try out a PlayStation VR for free.
The UEFA Champions Festival will take place in Cardiff from 1st-4th June 2017, the weekend of the football final between Real Madrid and Juventus. Visitors to the festival will be able to visit the Champions Village in Cardiff Bay where several booths offering various attractions will be available, such as the chance to have your picture taken with the famous trophy. Also available will be the PlayStation booth, which is offering the opportunity to try out the PlayStation VR and the newly-released title Farpoint.
The demonstrations are for 15 minutes and need to be booked in advance. The demonstrations are only available to those who are over 16, so photo ID will be required. Bookings open from 12pm (UK time) on Monday 22nd May 2017.
Visitors to the PlayStation booth will also have the opportunity to win tickets to see the UEFA Champions League Final match, which will take place on 3rd June. Tickets can be won by entering the ‘Headmaster Competition’ with further details being available at the PlayStation booth once the festival begins.
The UEFA Champions Festival is free to enter and will open on Thursday 1st June 2017. Over 200,000 people are expected to attend.
