The Party Comes to Oculus Rift With Schlocks

Oculus Rift users who are looking for a title to play along with friends can now rejoice as Fancy Bear Games’ fast-paced collection of virtual reality (VR) micro-games, Schlocks, is coming to the Oculus Rift.

Previously available for the HTC Vive, the development team are bringing Oculus Rift compatibility to the Early Access title as part of the latest patch. Schlocks is comprised of a series of 10-second long party games in the same mould as things like the Warioware series. The framing device is of a department store with various ‘departments’ such as Farm, Kitchen, Ocean and Carnival.

Schlocks supports 4-player local competitive mode and the current version in Early Access has over 50 mini games, with the development team hopping to up the number to over 100 by the time the title leaves Early Access for a full release. Games can be many things from sweeping floors, to chopping tomatoes, hitting beehives or washing dishes, with only 10 seconds to figure out the controls and complete the task.

A new department was recently added on 10th May titled ‘Fantasy’ which contains several new mini-games such as Brew the potion, Cast the Spell and Kiss the Frog.

The title is available on Steam Early Access for £10.99 (GBP) for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Touch. The development team at Fancy Bear Games say that Schlocks will be in Early Access for approximately three months and plan to be taking feedback from the Steam community on improvements and new mini-games to introduce. Further information can be found on the Steam Early Access page.

VRFocus will bring you further updates on Schlocks and other VR early access titles as they become available.
