VRStudios Launches New VR Arcade Title VRCade Drone Storm

As covered in the recent 3-part series The Virtual Arena, location-based virtual reality (VR) experiences are becoming increasingly common all over the world. One of the providers of such out-of-home experiences, VRStudios, have just launched a new VR videogame titled ‘VRcade Drone Storm’.

The new experience is advertised as being a multi-player, untethered and free-roaming experience, produced for VRStudios by Archiact VR. The players of VRCade Drone Storm will find themselves in a world where the cities have been overrun by hostile mechanised drones. Players will need to shoot down as many of the enemy drones as possible while dodging enemy fire. High scores are what the players are aiming for as ten waves of drones attack the players as they try and reclaim the city.

VRStudios has been a provider of location-based VR experiences since it’s inception in 2014. The company currently provides VR arcades at sites in 12 different countries all over the world, offering a solution that is simple to set up and maintain, making it attractive for owners and operators. The company recently installed VR Showdown in Ghost Town, a VR western that was opened earlier this year at Knott’s Berry Farm Boardwalk Arcade, and another on 1st April 2017 at Knott’s Berry Farm Cedar Fair Amusement Park.

It’s not currently know where VRCade Drone Storm will be installed, but VRStudios has worked with many locations, including casinos, cinemas, shopping malls and theme parks such as Universal Orlando, who worked with VRStduios on psychological horror attraction The Repository.

VRFocus will continue to bring you news of VRStudios latest projects and other location-based VR experiences.
