Today, NextVR and Live Nation have announced their next live immersive set to take place this Friday, with The Black Angels performing at First Avenue in Minneapolis.
As with previous concert broadcasts the companies will provide a front row seat for The Black Angels performance, transporting viewers into the venue to not only see the band play but to also get on-stage access while Austin’s psych rock masters play for the first time in virtual reality (VR).
The band have just released their new album Death Song, the five-piece’s first full-length release in four years, and their debut for Partisan Records.
The live immersive broadcast will go live at 11pm on Friday 12th May, globally available for free through the NextVR app. All you’ll need is a Google Daydream View or Samsung Gear VR headset, along with a compatible smartphone.
NextVR and Live Nation’s last concert was metalcore band Killswitch Engage, who performed last month at the Houston, Texas-based House of Blues.
The Black Angels concert isn’t the only performance happening this month, Third Eye Blind are playing at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, Boston, Massachusetts on 21st, and Slash will be at the LA Zoo’s Beastly Ball on 20th.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of NextVR and Live Nation, reporting back with the latest concert announcements.
