Pokémon GO Launches Easter Eggstravaganza

Wildly popular augmented reality (AR) mobile game created by Niantic Labs, Pokémon GO, is celebrating the returning warm weather with further encouragements for players to go outside with its latest seasonal celebration, The Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza.

The inevitable Easter-themed pun brings with it the chance for trainers to find a greater variety of Pokémon from 2km eggs. Usually, only relatively common Pokémon are found in the 2km eggs, with 5km and 10km Eggs being reserved for rarer types. The event offers the chance for different Pokémon to emerge from the common 2km eggs. Which of course will mean quite a bit of walking, so trainers might well be hoping for a spell of nice weather.

As an additional incentive, players will also be able to earn more Candy for every Pokémon  hatched from an Egg. Candy is required for evolving Pokemon, so extra Candy might just bring those elusive evolution forms into closer reach.

The Eggstravaganza celebration begins on 13th April and will last until 20th April. For the duration o that time, players will be able to level up faster than usual, getting double XP for every action that would normally earn experience. Lucky Eggs will also be 50% off in the in-game shop, which when combined with the event XP bonus, adds up to four times the usual amount of XP. For any trainers who are struggling to catch up with fellow players, this might just be the boost they need.
