Michael Pompili CEO and co-founder of Churroboros talks to VRFocus about upcoming title, Velocibeasts. Velocibeasts a videogame where the player takes the role of an animal in a giant mech suit, throwing weapons at other animals in other mech suits. It is intended to be just as mad as it sounds.
The movement uses an interesting system where the player can throw a weapon to a location, then teleport to the location of that weapon which presents unique tactical options.
The current closed Beta of the game allows up to four people to play simultaneously in multiplayer. A mobile virtual reality (VR) version of Velocibeasts is in development which will also allow four players at once, but the developers are hoping that for the PC VR version to eventually have up to six players to enable 6 vs 6 Death Match mode. Velocibeasts is compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and has cross-platform multiplayer available.
Pompili says the game is still early in development, with only six months of work having been done on the title so far. The team hope to have the mobile VR version available by Q3 of 2017, while the PC VR version is expected to be released in Q4.
