Final line-up for Insomnia60 Includes HTC Vive and PlayStation VR

One of the biggest gaming events on the UK calendar is the Insomnia expo, held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, UK, several times a year. The last took place in December, Insomnia59, with Insomnia60 set to open its doors in a couple of weeks. Today, organiser Multiplay has announced the final line-up for the festival, and virtual reality (VR) companies will be there in force again.

Attendees to the event will be able to demo the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) – although it’s unclear which titles will be included – and Song Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) PlayStation VR will be there. Content on offer will include the well received Resident Evil 7 biohazard which launched in January, and the unreleased Farpoint which has always been demoed with the Aim controller.

Naturally there will be masses of non-VR videogames to play. For the first time Nintendo will be opening a Nintendo Zone, giving fans a chance to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe two weeks before launch. Other Nintendo Switch games available to play will include ArmsSplatoon 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Andy Smith, Director of The Insomnia Gaming Festival, commented: “We’re always looking to make Insomnia bigger and better than ever – the list of publishers coming this Easter to showcase their hardware and range of titles shows how far-reaching the festival has become. There’s something for everyone in April, with families and fans alike set to crowd around Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 and gamers looking forward to Injustice 2. We’re thrilled to welcome more fans than ever this year.”

Tickets are still available. A full day at Insomnia60 will cost £25 GBP per person, with the full VIP experience priced at £90 + fees. For further info head to the official website.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Insomnia, reporting back with the latest festival updates.
