COLOPL Inc. has released several virtual reality (VR) titles over the past year. These have included Fly to Kuma, VR Tennis Online and Dig 4 Destruction. The latter arrived on HTC Vive in August and now its been confirmed for Oculus Touch.
Appearing in the ‘coming soon’ section of Oculus Home, Dig 4 Destruction is a first-person shooter (FPS) set in a destructible deathmatch arena. Featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes, the premise revolves around players having to unearth weapons hidden in the cubed landscape.
A frantic but light-hearted take on FPS videogames, Dig 4 Destruction requires players to don various comedic gloves and masks before heading into battle. Masks range from wolf, cat, rabbit, teddy bear, chicken and other designs, with new being made available each day.
While single-player lets gamers hone their skills in a garage firing range, its the four person online multiplayer that’s the core of the experience. Matches are split into five minute durations, and as with any deathmatch style title, the aim is to score as many kills as possible before the time runs out.
Adding to the multiplayer is a social waiting room for players to interact in between matches. Here they can chat to each other prior to battle, take photos, light fireworks or even play a game of chess before waging war against each other.
The Oculus Home listing doesn’t state when Dig 4 Destruction will be available for Oculus Touch, but with the motion controllers only a couple of weeks away from launch it’s likely the title will be a day one release.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of the latest Oculus Touch titles, reporting back with any new updates.
