uSens’ Color Fingo Tracking Device Now Available to Pre-Order

uSens, a hand-and-head tracking technology specialist has announced the pre-order availability of its Color Fingo device, but only for head-mounted display (HMD) and other hardware, platform, and content makers.

The Color Fingo features two RGB cameras and aided by a 9 axis motion sensor, this allows six degrees of freedom (6DOF) positional tracking without the use of external markers.

The company has several comprehensive developer kits across three Fingo modules – Entry-Level, Color and Power – offering 3D human-computer interaction capability for both mobile and tethered systems, including Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Google Cardboard. A Fingo module works by attaching to the front of an HMD, so that users can enjoy their favourite experiences without major sacrifices to system power consumption or performance.

“We’re making our Color Fingo hardware and software available for the industry in order to forge partnerships that will accelerate mass-market ARVR adoption,” said Dr. Yue Fei, CTO and co-founder of uSens. “We want to make it possible for developers to create the most comprehensive, naturally interactive 3D experiences, which require advanced tracking without a peripheral device.” Dr. Fei is speaking at the Unite 2016 conference at 2:30 pm on November 2 on the topic of “Input and Tracking: Mass Market ARVR Adoption is Coming Soon.”

uSens software currently supports Unity 3D, Java, C++, and C# for developers, with more development environments to come. Studios can visit the uDev network portal to request a developer kit.

For those attending the Unity Unite 2016 event this week, uSens will be exhibiting its latest technology for developers until 3rd, November 2016.
