VR Squash 2017 Confirms Release Date

As active virtual reality (VR) titles such as Sprint Vector and CCP Games’ Sparc have confirmed, there is demand for fast-moving action titles that require physical exertion in VR. Tapping into that market is VR Squash 2017, which has just announced its November release date.

Created for the HTC Vive, VR Squash 2017 is designed to replicate the experience of playing a real-life game of squash as closely as possible. Known in the sports world as a fast-paced and highly competitive sport, Squash makes a good candidate for converting into VR.

The developers have concentrated on giving VR Squash 2017 realistic physics, so movement and hitting the ball will accurately reflect real life, though the developers are keen to emphasise that the title is not just for people who already know how to play Squash. HD textures have been used to model the environment, and the racquets have been crafted to look and behave as much like their real-life counterparts as possible.

The developers are planning to launch VR Squash 2017 on Steam for the HTC Vive on 18th November, 2017. The title will launch with the single player campaign with increasing AI difficulty, a multiplayer mode will also be available, though full details of this have yet to be revealed.

No price point has been confirmed as of yet, and it is unknown if there are plans to port the title to other VR platforms.
