VOYA Advanced VR Stand Seeks Crowdfunding

High-end virtual reality (VR) can provide a wealth of absorbing content, but also comes with its share of drawbacks, such as the problem of storage. Between the headset itself, controllers and wires, finding a good place to store your VR kit can be a problem. Enter VOYA, who have launched a Kickstarter campaign for a high-tech VR stand and storage solution.

Designed using Google’s Tilt Brush software, the VOYA headset stand will fit most head-mounted display units currently on the market, including the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR. It also offers storage for controllers in the compartment underneath, which also contains USB charging points to ensure your controllers are ready when needed. For extra style points, the VOYA even has adjustable LED lighting.

The Kickstarter campaign is seeking £30,000 (GBP) in funding. Funding tiers range from £5 to get your name added to the website, to £10 for VOYA-branded ‘Immersion Bands’ that help alleviate the symptoms of simulation sickness. Early bird backers can pledge £50 to get a VOYA VR headset stand in polar white, while the top tier of £220 gets the backer four VOYA headset stands, along with the aforementioned Immersion Bands.

VOYA VR designer Mark Date said, “I’m a VR enthusiast, and the VOYA stand was created to solve a problem I experienced with my VR equipment when not in use. My beloved kit morphed into a dusty, tangle of wires on my desk – so I decided a proper storage solution was needed for this new world changing technology. And that led me to create the VOYA VR headset stand – a true home to store and protect any VR headset when not in use. This is an indispensable accessory for those like me who believe VR is humankind’s next great frontier.”

The Kickstarter campaign is due to end on 12th October, 2017. If the campaign is successful, the creators are hoping to begin delivery of the units in April, 2018.

Need a Headset Stand? VOYA VR Could be the Most Advanced yet

Whether you have one virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) or multiples, the cost of the hardware means that you’ll want to keep your purchase safe and out the way rather than just leaving it around. There are plenty of ways to do this, some users simply purchase a hook or similar to attach their headset to a wall, or there are accessory options by third-party manufacturers to secure a device to. These tend to be no more complicated than a plastic head such as the official PlayStation VR stand by Numskull. This September however, VOYA VR plans on launching a Kickstarter campaign for a far more advanced stand.

The Voya VR headset stand is designed to fit most HMDs currently available. Designed with Google’s Tilt Brush in a virtual environment, VOYA is a complete storage solution for VR headsets, headphones and hand controllers.

The stand has a calibrated adjustment system which adapts to each headset brand for a snug fit – meaning it can be used with headset’s like the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.

In addition to storing your prized HMD, the VOYA VR can also store controllers in the compartment underneath which houses four USD charging points. And for that added showmanship, the stand also comes with adjustable LED lighting.

The VOYA VR Kickstarter will launch on 6th September 2017. Backing tier and prices have yet to be revealed, when they do VRFocus will let you know.
