Digital Pre-Orders for Marvel’s Iron Man VR Are Being Refunded

Last week Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) made the shock announcement that both Marvel’s Iron Man VR and The Last of Us Part II were to be delayed indefinitely due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. That also left a lot of gamers who had pre-ordered the titles wondering where that left them. Well for those that digitally pre-ordered refunds should be automatic.

Over on the official PlayStation support page, a message reads: “The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR have been delayed. All digital pre-order consumers will automatically receive a refund. Please check your email for more details.” This is great news for those who did get their orders in early for either title via PlayStation Store. Physical pre-orders will likely be handled by the store customers went to.

SIE has also ensured that the listing for Marvel’s Iron Man VR has been removed from the store, indicating the delay won’t be short. Whether this is the start of things to come is unclear but with the pandemic infections still rising lockdowns are going to stay in place, people that can will continue working from home and delays will likely continue.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR by developer Camouflaj is a promising looking VR title with VRFocus having played the demo at Gamescom 2019. “Iron Man VR has already created plenty of buzz and excitement thanks to the possibility it’ll be a fully-fledged VR videogame rather than the short demo experience Spider-Man: Far From Home Virtual Reality. And that’s certainly justified from what VRFocus has seen so far.”

It’s not all doom and gloom when it comes to PlayStation VR releases. Yomuneco Inc. is still on course to launch Swords of Gargantua this spring and Cortopia Studios’ Down the Rabbit Hole is due out this week. Arriving today are Form and Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories, while recent releases include Final Assault, Good Goliath, A-Tech Cybernetic, Paper Beast  and The Room VR: A Dark Matter. Plenty to keep you entertained.

As and when further details are released regarding the state of Marvel’s Iron Man VR launch, VRFocus will let you know.
