Boxing Apocalypse Confirmed for PlayStation VR Release

Sporting virtual reality (VR) titles are a great way to burn a few calories, with boxing titles like Creed: Rise to Glory one of the most recent examples. If you do happen to enjoy punching virtual characters then Gotham City Films has another title for fighting fans, Boxing Apocalypse, which is due to launch soon for PlayStation VR.

Boxing Apocalypse

Originally released earlier this year for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Boxing Apocalypse employs a sci-fi twist to the boxing genre, with a basic storyline where players find themselves kidnapped and transported to an alien space prison to kick some ass and save the world. The single-player campaign features five levels of alien combatants to beat with a boss at the end to finish before you can win the crown.

In addition to the solo campaign, Gotham City Films has included a multiplayer mode for friends to create their own championships to see who is the best.

With Boxing Apocalypse being less about realistic fighting and more about punching the life out of some weird looking alien opponents, the studio has included some additional features. Fighters will have use of energy shields for quick counter combos, weapons for deadly kills, and customizable armour and gauntlet upgrades to create their own unique warrior.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Gotham City Films, reporting back with its latest VR updates.
