Become a Superhero as Marvel Powers United VR Demos in Select Locations

Superheroes are all the rage at the moment thanks to Marvel and it seemingly never ending supply of half decent films. Back in the summer fans got a taste of things to come when Sanzaru Games in collaboration with Oculus and Marvel unveiled Marvel Powers United VR at the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). Today, Oculus has announced the rollout of public demos at select locations in the US, UK and France.

Fans looking at immersing themselves in the Marvel universe will be able to do so at participating Best Buy locations in the US, certain Currys PC World and John Lewis locations in the UK and FNAC locations in France.

While the full title will feature multiple locations, for the demo players will find themselves inside the Sakaar Arena, able to take control of one of five characters Black Bolt, who has a destructive voice; Captain Marvel, who can fire powerful Photon Beams and Energy Blasts; Crystal, who can control Water, Fire, Air, and Earth elements; Hulk, just smash everything!; and Thor, who has a mighty hammer.

In the arena you’ll not only fight lots of evil minions, but the highlight will be going head-to-head with Loki in a epic boss battle.

Oculus hasn’t said how long the demos will be available for but with Marvel Powers United VR due to launch in 2018, you might want to get down to your local store sooner rather than later.

If there isn’t a store nearby, why not check out VRFocus’ interview with Matt Kreamer, Creative Director at Sanzaru Games for more info, or how about VRFocus’ preview from Oculus Connect 4 (OC4)

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Marvel Powers United VR, reporting back with the latest updates.
