The Game Developers Conference is one of the biggest events in the videogaming calender, sitting alongside E3 and Gamescom in terms of impact. The event successfully created a new sub-event titled VRDC specifically focussing on virtual reality (VR), and tickets are now available, with VRFocus offering a special discount.
VRDC is offering four tracks: Games and entertainment, Brand Experience, Innovation Across Industries and Partners. Representatives from some of the biggest names in VR and augmented reality (AR) are expected, including Amazon, Apple, Magic Leap, Google, HTC Vive Unity, Valve and many others.
Panned talks and workshops include topics such as: The Matrix Vs Pokemon Go: The Battle for the Holodeck, Mixed Reality Space Exploration, Mobile VR Discovery and Monetisation and Red Bull Air Race: A Case Study in Branded Mixed Reality. Facebook’s Mike Booth will also be attending to host a discussion on Creating Social Experiences in VR and Paul Bettner of Playful Corp will be offering a session titled ‘How to Be A Successful VR Game Studio’.
New technology is expected to be demonstrated at the event, including new AR, VR and mixed reality experiences that have not been shown elsewhere.
Attendees who register by 23rd August can buy a pass for $1,499 (USD), though the price increases to $1,599 after that date. Or, you can take advantage of the special VRFocus offer. By using the discount code VRF0CS17 VRFocus readers can get 10% off VRDC passes.
VRDC will be held on 21st-122nd September, 2017 at the Hilton San Francisco in Union Square. Further information and tickets can be found on the VRDC website.
