Announced during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference, Final Fantasy XV: Monster of the Deep is a brand new virtual reality (VR) title from Square Enix. Based in the Final Fantasy XV universe, Monster of the Deep heavily expands on the fishing mechanics from the main videogame, and then brings it into VR – and now we have brand new screens to show you.
Releasing as a standalone title in September 2017, Final Fantasy XV: Monster of the Deep allows you to catch a whole host of brand new aquatic creatures, including some particularly ferocious looking beasts. You’ll also be able to camp with the cast and use new fishing mechanics.
We have all the latest screenshots below, we’ll see the crew camping, fishing and more in a variety of new locations.
We’ve been questioning whether this announcement confirms the cancellation of the Final Fantasy XV: VR Experience, which we’ve seen nothing of since last year.
The title will be exclusive to PlayStation VR, and will use the PS Move controllers to simulate fishing and more.
