In the run up to next month’s General Election in the UK, the political parties are going all out to secure those votes, with Tory Prime Minister Theresa May walking the streets going door to door, while the Labour Party has embraced the latest technology with a 360-degree video.
Produced by creative-technology studio Room One, the sub three minute video has been released to mark the start of the party’s General Election campaign, with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn giving a speech during a rally.
Shot from various locations in the venue, the video shows the event being setup and everyone getting ready before Corbyn comes onstage to give his speech regarding Labour’s plans for the future should the party win the snap election.
A spokesperson for Room One Films said in a statement: “We were delighted to work with the Labour Party on this video. 360-degrees is a compelling media for campaigning. It’s a good way to connect with voters because it is inherently more emotional. We think this is part of a trend, and we’ll start to see more 360-degrees videos and VR in politics in the future. We hope to be part of that.”
