Earlier this year NVIDIA launched its 10 series graphics cards, the Geforce GTX 1080, 1070 and 1060, improving performance with the new Pascal architecture whilst reducing the price over the previous models. Today the company has now announced the entry level cards in the range, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti.
The Geforce GTX 1050 will be priced from £115 GBP with the GTX 1050 Ti coming in at £139. They’ll make it more affordable than ever for consumers interested in getting into PC gaming, as they’ll be able to offer performance capable of providing 60 frames-per-second.
Looking at the specifications detailed below there is one important point to watch out for, the new cards aren’t virtual reality (VR) ready. So anybody wishing for a cheap entry into the VR PC market will have to go for either the Geforce GTX 1060 at £240 or go for rival AMD’s RX 480 costing £180.
GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti custom boards will be available from NVIDIA GeForce Partners, including ASUS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, iGame, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac. GTX 1050 Ti will be available on 25th October, while the GTX 1050 will be available on or before 8th November 2016.
