Fans of the Serious Sam series will know its all about one thing, all out first-person warfare on an epically ridiculous level. Today owners of the HTC Vive head-mounted display will also be able to join in the fun as developer Croteam has now launched the title on Steam Early Access.
As an early access title Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope will initially feature two planets with multiple levels, with a boss fight for each planet at the end. In pure Serious Sam fashion players will have to wade through hordes of evil monsters that will stop at nothing to end them. But player aren’t left empty handed as that wouldn’t be fun at all, so to ensure the creatures are just cannon fodder there’s an arsenal of guns at the players disposal, pistols, shotguns, rocket launchers, assault rifles, miniguns and more will be available today with more being added in the future.
Croteam plans on keeping Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope in early access for around six months, during which further content will be added to expand the title. The studio wants to involve the Steam community in its development with feedback helping to drive and improve the videogame before it fully launches.
Enticing players to by the early access title Croteam is running a limited time discount for early adopters. Available now until 24th October is a 20 percent discount, this drops the price from £29.99 GBP to £23.99.
If that wasn’t enough to tempt players a new launch trailer has been released showcasing the carnage that awaits. Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope has been doing the rounds at several events including E3, Gamescom and EGX. Some of the demos have featured a mixed reality (MR) setup and parts of the video shows players in the videogame utterly surrounded.
VRFocus will continue its coverage of Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, reporting back with any further updates.
