We do a double dip on 360 degree videos today with a pair taken from very different viewpoints of Hurricane Matthew.
For those who aren’t aware, Matthew finally dissipated on October 10th after the Category 5 major hurricane cut a swathe of destruction across locations such a Haiti, Cuba, the Bahamas and of course the United States. The slightly unusual event, made landfall as a category 2 hurricane in the US and was described by the US Weather Service as the most powerful storm to hit Florida in 118 years. Even now gone, the storm’s after effects continue to cause tragedy.
Our first video comes from Florida itself, a video from AccuWeather shows the intensity of the wind and rain as a car crosses a causeway at Daytona Beach at the eye wall. They describe it as “the strongest wind gusts we’ve experienced by a long shot”.

The second video takes in a whole other viewpoint, and again something you might not be aware of. Did you know that to help analyse a hurricane sometimes the best proces is… to fly into it?
