The PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD) is set to feature a sizeable roster of videogames for its launch on 13th October, and today another title has been confirmed. UK-based virtual reality (VR) specialist nDreams has announced that its first-person experience The Assembly will be available from day one.
nDreams first launched the title on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive back in July as the studios first major VR project release. Its long been known that The Assembly would be supporting the PlayStation VR, but until now no date had been revealed.
The Assembly is a storyline heavy experience revolving around an organisation called The Assembly, which operates outside of the government and the law, and as such performs morally ambiguous experiments. As the player learns about what goes on it’s up to them to decide whether the organisation is good or bad.
The videogame has been designed to be an accessible introduction to VR, with a player-tested control scheme built to ensure comfort with the DualShock 4 wireless controller. This enables players to explore The Assembly’s environments without ever leaving their chair and as comfortably.
VRFocus reviewed the title in July, describing it as: ‘a very enjoyable experience within its genre’ and ‘a worthy investment for VR aficionados.’
The Assembly will be available to download from the PlayStation Store for $29.99 USD / €24.99 EUR / £19.99 GBP on Thursday 13th October. For all the latest videogame news for PlayStation VR, keep reading VRFocus.
