Back in August VRFocus reported on Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live coming to PlayStation VR in Japan on 13th October and the US and Europe a day later on the 14th. Now the US producer for the Project Diva series has confirmed that Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live will be coming to western shores on the 13th, ensuring a worldwide launch on the same day as the head-mounted display (HMD).
Sam Mullen confirmed the release on PlayStation.Blog, whilst also revealing: ” If you picked up Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X, be sure to check out the VR-enabling patch, which will be released alongside PS VR, that will enable you to view concerts you created using the Concert Editor in VR! While not the full VR Future Live experience, it will give you a small taste of what Miku + VR can be!”
Exclusive to PlayStation VR, Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live immerses players in the brightly coloured, neon lit world of Hatsune Miku, a fictional Japanese pop star. In terms of gameplay players start by sitting in the arena amongst all the fans watching the performance. They have a glow stick which can be waved in time with the music, taking cues from the rest of the crowd. As the crowds intensity reaches its peak players will then be transported on stage for a one-on-one performance with the singer
The videogame is split into stages, with each stage comprising a setlist of three songs, two of which can be chosen by the player. The launch day release will feature the following songs: Love Trial by 40mP; 1/6 – out of the gravity – by noa; Satisfaction by kz; Weekender Girl by kz & Hachioji P; 39 by DECO*27 & sasakure.UK; Cute Medley – Idol Sounds by Mitchie M and Love Song by Lamaze-P.
Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live will be available as a free download on PlayStation Network, but players will need to purchase Stages in order to play any content. There will be a total of three stages at $14.99 USD each to be released with more information on those coming soon.
