If you missed it yesterday VRFocus reported on an image appearing on online of Resident Evil 7 biohazard for PlayStation VR, being exclusive to the headset for 12 months. That picture (through Reddit) came from a gif that PlayStationEU tweeted, and its not the last piece of information it had to share. The gif also included Batman: Arkham VR, which has now been confirmed as a timed exclusive as well.
Batman: Arkham VR is a launch day title for Sony Interactive Entertainments (SIE) upcoming head-mounted display (HMD), but the device will only have the exclusive for six months, ending on 31st March 2017.
So that does confirm that either Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or both are possible platforms for Batman: Arkham VR to find its way to in 2017. If you want to find out if the wait will be worth it VRFocus previewed the title recently, and naturally we’ll have a full review coming soon.
Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Batman: Arkham VR are the only videogames so far revealed to be timed exclusives, but other titles are making their debuts on the PlayStation VR first. These include frantic World War 2 multiplayer World War Toons from Reload Studios, which will launch its open free-to-play beta on 13th October.
With only ten days to go until the launch of SIE’s PlayStation VR all eyes will be on the company to see how much of a success the device will be in the first few months. The headset has a strong selection of titles for day one including RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, Thumper, Rez Infinite, EVE: Valkyrie, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Battlezone, 100ft Robot Golf, Here They Lie and many more.
