Resident Evil 7 biohazard Exclusive to PlayStation VR for 12 Months

Since the launch of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive there’s always been a big debate surrounding exclusive content, generally because its a practice that revolves around console videogames rather than PC titles. In just over a weeks time the PlayStation VR will launch and the headset does have some experiences that have only been showcased on the device, but now its seems one exclusive may only be for a certain time as an advertising image for Resident Evil 7 biohazard has recently revealed.

Capcom has only ever shown Resident Evil 7 biohazard on the PlayStation VR, as an exclusive, but as shown in the image below – which appeared on Reddit from a reported Facebook ad – that image has some interesting info in the bottom left hand side, stating: “Resident Evil 7 biohazard coming in 2017 and exclusive to PlayStation VR for 12 months.”

Resident Evil 7 PSVR Timed Exclusive

By that statement the videogame will support other platforms after the exclusivity has run out, which would be January 2018. So Oculus Rift and HTC Vive users could be seeing Resident Evil 7 biohazard arriving on Oculus Home or Steam in just over a years time.

Also worth remembering is Microsoft’s Project Scorpio console, which is expected to be released towards the end of 2017. It’s very likely the title would support the new hardware and any virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) that’s also compatible.

VRFocus will endeavour to find out further information on future supporting platforms, and report back with our findings.
