World building videogame Minecraft has to one of the most popular titles around at the moment – it even has its own event Minecon – so the news was well received when a virtual reality (VR) version was announced. Minecraft VR first appeared on Samsung Gear VR in April followed by Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta for Oculus Rift last month. Now Microsoft – which owns Minecraft developer Mojang – has announced it’ll be offering Minecraft demos in select stores on Oculus Rift.
Visitors to one of the 56 stores across the US which have been chosen, can walk in and demo the videogame for free with no appointment needed. Fans of the standard title will be able to see what it’s like playing the VR version, putting gamers inside their favourite blocky world. For add comfort the demo also features PC Gaming chairs by NEEDforSEAT, styled like those found in race cars.
The full list of participating Microsoft Store locations are listed below with demos rolling out by 3rd, October 2016.
