There’s still four months to go until CES 2017 takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January next year. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has now revealed the first keynote speaker for the event, NVIDIA’s co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang.
Huang will deliver the event’s preshow address at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, 4th January. While no details have yet been revealed on what exact topics he’ll be discussing the company has been focusing on artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, virtual reality (VR), and gaming so expect something from these areas.
“NVIDIA plays a central role in some of the most important technology forces changing our world today,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. “Its work in artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, VR and gaming puts the company on the leading edge of the industry. Mr. Huang is a visionary CEO who consistently anticipates trends well before their arrival. I am especially pleased to welcome him to the keynote stage given the growth we’ve seen in all of these areas on the CES show floor.”
The CEO co-founded NVIDIA in 1993, and since then has been noted by Harvard Business Review as one of the world’s 100 best-performing CEOs. Huang is a recipient of the Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award from the Global Semiconductor Association and the Daniel Epstein Engineering Management Award from the University of Southern California, amongst other accolades.
CES is the largest technology show in the world. Held every January, companies from across the globe head to the event to showcase their latest tech, giving the public an idea of what’s due to launch not only in the following year but years to come. Registrations for CES 2017 are now open.
