Originally unveiled at the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2015, in July last year, Cyber Danganronpa VR: Class Trial was demonstrated as a prototype experience for PlayStation VR. After more than a year of silence it has today been confirmed that the videogame will launch on PlayStation VR later this year.
The confirmation came via a very short trailer at Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan’s (SIEJ) Tokyo Game Show (TGS) press conference this morning. No new details were revealed, instead an animated image of the infamous black-and-white bear simply acknowledged that the videogame would be made available for purchase.
Cyber Danganronpa VR: Class Trial recreates the class trial portion of the first two Danganronpa titles, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, in which the player is tasked with exposing a killer amongst the students. A new Danganronpa title was also confirmed for PlayStation 4 at the press conference, though this was not included in the PlayStation VR section. Whether or not Cyber Danganronpa VR: Class Trial will feature elements of this latest release remains to be seen.
Cyber Danganronpa VR: Class Trial is expected to launch in Japan later this year, though no release in western territories has yet been confirmed. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Cyber Danganronpa VR: Class Trial and its potential North American and European launches
